It is a bit difficult to reconcile the idea of the world in ‘The Last Greenhouse’ happening in the future. But also, it is not that hard to see happening. Already, people are being worked to the bone, day after day, running on tight schedules with little to no time to actually stop and take a full, slow breath. In order to avoid falling into the busy lifestyle of The Accountant, one must be willing to slow down and not worry about how productive they are in a day and how much they need to do when they get home, always going and going but never stopping until they have burnt out.
The role I can take to make sure this future does not happen to me, at least, is refusing to work myself to the bone in any office job I happen to land myself in. And maybe through my example or encouragement, people will also follow and learn to put their well-being first.
